Baseball loses two 7-6 games to Wesleyan

TUCSON, Ariz. — The baseball team lost a pair of 7-6 games to Wesleyan (CT) on Monday in their first action of their spring break trip. The second game went to extra innings.

Both teams led in game one, but Wesleyan was the last team to score and broke a 6-6 tie in the sixth inning.

Logan Murphy took the loss for Panthers. He went one inning, allowing two runs on no hits, striking out one and walking one.

Travis Ralls went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Panthers in hits.

Greenville lost a late lead and gave up a tenth inning run as they were given a loss in game two.

The Panthers took an early lead in the third inning when Grant Carman singled on a scoring one run.

Greenville notched three runs in the third inning. Travis Ralls, Mark Islas, and Carman all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Cole Becker took the loss for Panthers. He pitched the tenth inning, allowing one run on one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Sam Alender started the game for the Panthers. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out five.

Greenville tallied 11 hits in the game. Ralls, Getz, and Dix each collected two hits to lead Panthers.

The Panthers (1-6) face Marian (WI) on Tuesday in the third game of their trip.
