EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team hosted Webster at SIUE's Simmons Baseball Complex and were defeated in both games of a doubleheader. The Panthers fell 3-1 in game one before being handed a 17-0 defeat in game two.
Starting pitcher Jonah Moore went all seven innings in game one, allowing just one earned run.
Greenville fell behind 2-0 after the second inning, and Webster made the game 3-0 in the third.
In Greenville's half of the fourth inning, Sam Hodges hit an RBI groundout to the second baseman to put Greenville on the scoreboard, but that was the final run of the game.
Game two went Webster's way from the beginning as the Gorloks got six first inning runs.
Errors were Greenville's problem in game two as seven errors contributed to 13 unearned runs.
Adam Lamb started the game on the mound for Greenville and went two-thirds of an innings. He allowed five runs, two earned.
Cole Becker allowed two runs in 2.1 innings, but those were the last earned runs that Webster would score.
Andrew Torbeck went 2-for-3, including a double.
The Panthers (15-17, 10-9 SLIAC) travel to MacMurray for a makeup game on Wednesday.
