The 2019 NCCAA Victory Bowl™ will feature the Greenville University Panthers and the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers on Saturday, November 23. The game will be played at Greenville’s Francis Field in Greenville, Illinois. Kickoff is set for 12:30pm CT.
The football team wrapped up their regular season with the second place position in the UMAC standings with a narrow 34-33 win over Minnesota-Morris at Francis Field on Saturday. Prior to the game, the Panthers honored 12 seniors - Jacob Hutchinson, Josh Robinson, Adereio Jones, Brock Bullar, Michael Buckhanna, George Harris, Gavin Jordan, Abias Lowe, Kyler Henson, Scott Woker, Herman Esquivel, and Eric Kranh.
The football team picked up their second shutout of the season when they defeated Iowa Wesleyan 21-0 at Francis Field. The blanking marked the first time since 1993 that the Panther football team has shut out two opponents in the same season.
The football team played their Homecoming game on Saturday in front of an energetic crowd and came up with a 40-34 win over St. Scholastica. Attempting to defeat St. Scholastica for the first time since their first matchup in 2010, the Panthers used 519 yards of total offense, including 312 yards rushing, to take the upper hand and notch the victory.
If the preseason UMAC coaches poll was any indication, the football team’s 42-14 victory on Saturday over a Northwestern team predicted to finish second sent notice to the conference that the Greenville football program will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the UMAC’s eight game conference schedule.
