Women's soccer defeats Spalding, earns spot in SLIAC tournament

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The women's soccer team clinched an appearance in the SLIAC tournament with a 2-0 win over Spalding on Tuesday.

The Panthers received both goals from Dani Pearce who recorded tallies in the 14th and 18th minutes.

Pearce led Greenville with five shots, including four on goal.

Goalkeeper Marjory Coates collected her fifth shutout of the season with three saves in front of the net.

The Panthers (12-5-1, 5-2-1 SLIAC) travel to Eureka on Saturday for a match at 1 p.m.  They will appear in the SLIAC tournament at Webster or Fontbonne on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
