Women's volleyball tops Illinois College for second time

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The No. 16 women's volleyball team defeated Illinois College in straight sets on Monday night as they recorded their second win over the Lady Blues this spring. The Panthers triumphed with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-21.

Jasmin Smith produced the highest number of points for GU with contributions to 13 of the Panthers' 75 points. She had 11 kills, a service error, and two block assists. She also converted a double-double by adding 12 digs.

Anna Finch was the only other Panther to reach 10 points, and she did so with nine kills and a solo block.

Emily Stahl recorded a .500 kill percentage with seven kills and one error on 12 swings, and she also added three block assists.

Chasity Hill led GU with 18 digs in the back row, and she was followed by Mia Bonacorsi with 15 digs.

The Panthers (11-2) travel to Blackburn for a SLIAC match on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
